She’s a geek.

I like video games. A lot. In fact, I’d say they occupy a majority of my downtime. For the past few weeks, I’ve been coming down off of my Rock Band Extravaganza. There were a few months there where that was all that happened in my house; me, my boyfriend, my roommate, and even my son would be singing, strumming, and drumming away. I specialized in the drums, drumming my way into callused hands and swollen fingers as I broke into expert level. We played toooo much, so we’ve decided that it’s time to give the game a break.

Grand Theft Auto IV, Chynna <3's it.

Which has given my motley crew time to pick up new gaming habits. My son has chosen the route of the mustachio’d — He’s fallen in love with Mario Kart for DS, and Mario Kart for the Wii. I decided I wanted to go for some lighter gaming too, so I dickered around with Pokemon Pearl for a while.. Until two fabulous things happened. First off, my boyfriend rented GTA IV (Xbox 360) for us, and then bought me Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core (PSP).

Both of these actions have gained him super huge bonus points with me. First off, GTA IV has been great. While I may be a huge video game nerd, I am not necessarily the best most super awesome at them, and GTA IV understands that. It’s not insanely difficult, so it’s fun for disabled geeks like myself. Also, it’s story line driven which I love.. and it’s completely possible to play for like 30 minutes and still accomplish things and enjoy yourself. Plus, there is Internet dating. How cool is that?

Final Fantasy Crisis Core is pretty sweet so far as well. It’s a prequel to the original FFVII, and we get to learn more about Sephiroth and Zack. The fighting is pretty neat so far, it’s a good compromise to the usual FF turn based fighting. (Maybe not as neat as FFXII’s, but still cool.) It’s really nice to have another fun FFVII game out there after Dirge of Cerberus was such an abortion.

Anyways. That’s how I’ve been passing time, lately. I’ll post more about all the new drama in the life o’ Chynna despues. :)
